WHO is Vitor Cepeda Lopes?
From the resonant strings of a violin to the evocative frames of a camera, my creative journey has been as dynamic as it's been enriching. Born in the historic city of Braga in 1988, my early venture into the world of arts began as a violinist, enveloping audiences with melodies and harmonies. Yet, an insatiable creative spirit led me to explore beyond the strings: from crafting dynamic light designs and producing captivating tunes to standing as the technical director of the Salesianos do Estoril Theater.
However, an insatiable passion for storytelling drew me towards my true calling, film directing.
In 2011, a self-driven quest into film production began. I zealously absorbed every piece of knowledge, every technique, and every nuance of this mesmerizing art form. My fleeting academic sojourn at Universidade Lusófona brought forth "Monsters Inside Us," a project close to my heart. The universe further conspired to hone my skills when I found a mentor in the distinguished cinematographer, Shane Hurlbut, ASC, in 2015.
As the chapters unfolded, I ventured into the advertising realm with Krypton Films, from there, opportunities beckoned, from freelancing roles to collaborating with the esteemed Bro Cinema, before a significant chapter at Madstudios, where my multi-hat approach significantly contributed to the production company success.
But here's the thing: I've never been one to wear a single hat. As a director, I bring stories to life with emotion and depth. As a cinematographer, I paint tales with light and shadows. As a creative/writer, I craft compelling narratives that resonate deeply with audiences, weaving words and visuals seamlessly, and as an executive producer, I ensure every story, however grand or intimate, has all it needs.
These diverse roles have intertwined, leading me to a title that truly encapsulates my essence: Storyteller.
Beyond the awards, accolades, and recognitions, I cherish the countless moments where an idea transformed into a story, a narrative touched a heart, or a frame evoked an emotion. My diverse journey, enriched by musical discipline, a deep-seated love for various subcultures, and an ever-growing cinematic appetite, equips me to craft tales that resonate and enthrall, and is a testament to my belief: The Content Quality Equality - the belief that all stories, irrespective of their scale, deserve to be treated equal, with the same dedication, meticulous care, creativity, and craftsmanship.
